Profile – 95/90.2/82 (CAT - 99.93), 30 months work-ex
1. Tell me about yourself and why MBA in a minute?
Ans. Told important points of my story and background.
2. Some questions on family and story behind it?
Ans. Asked about failures and crisp story around it.
3. You have studied graph theory as mentioned in transcript, tell me one optimisation technique?
Ans. I mentioned linear programming, also mentioned that it's been a long time I've studied this. They said we will ask you theoretical and not numerical (should have said No but didn't)
4. How to solve a linear equation of 2 variables – decision variables and constraints?
Ans. Mentioned whatever I could remember vaguely, starting from corner points and then checking for optimal solution. They later asked why corner points, said something but then wasn't sure.
5. How to use calculus in linear programming? – usage of differentiation and integration?
Ans. Area calculation in integration and maxima/minima in differentiation.
6. Conditions of maxima and minima?
Ans. Told 1st and 2nd derivative conditions.
7. What are conditions of differentiability? Why should it be continuous?
Ans. 3 conditions - repeated one of those
8. What are conditions of continuity?
Ans. 2 conditions
9. 2nd professor - x^4 has minima at x=0 but double derivative is still =0 instead of >0 – caught off guard here
Ans. Mentioned about it being a minima but couldn't explain better
10. You work in risk management – suggest key risk parameters in healthcare sector and explain how would you go about it?
Ans. Went in trails of vaccines and key metrics to check and also split my answer in public and private hospitals
11. What will you do specifically for public health?
Ans. Mentioned my experience with government hospitals and what is better and what isn't
12. You used – opportunity cost in one of the lines before – what is that and what is the opportunity cost for you in 2 year MBA?
Ans. Told my 2 year salary, loan, EMI, hike (if any)
13. How will you value time in terms of money? Suppose I give you 5 minutes – how will you value in terms of money?
Ans. If someone earns X per year, I'll take that as per month on dividing by 12 and then let's say 22 days in a month and 8 hrs a day, I'll accordingly reach 5 minutes.
14. You are an analyst? What do you think about demonetisation?
Ans. I said I got promoted couple of months ago so an associate now, they said but still you analyse something. I then started explaining pros and cons – they said give us yes or no as policy– told them MSMEs hit so no but policy was fine so yes finally.
You can log off now.
Time – little less than 20 mins.
Verdict - Waitlisted (later Converted)
(This was my first interview of the season and it shook me like anything)
